In February 2023, Audemars Piguet, the esteemed Swiss luxury watchmaker based in Le Brassus, unveiled three new additions to its Royal Oak collection crafted from 18K white gold. The new Royal Oak series 38 mm self-winding chronograph adopts a new color design. The 18K white gold case complements the smoked blue “Grande Tapisserie” large checkered dial. The bezel is set with 32 baguette-cut diamonds. The smoked blue dial is embellished with a date display and three snail-shaped sub-dials, namely the hour counter at 9 o’clock, the minute counter at 3 o’clock and the small seconds counter at 6 o’clock.
Bright details on the dial add vitality to the overall slightly darker tone. The white gold hands are covered with a fluorescent coating, which can be read clearly in dim light. In 2022, Audemars Piguet will adopt a newly upgraded ergonomic design in some 34mm, 37mm, 38mm and 41mm watches launched to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Royal Oak series.
